Cummins Supplier Inclusion
Small Business Portal
Small businesses are the foundation of our global supply base. Small businesses challenge us with their agility and innovative approach to product and services offerings. We want to help them by fostering meaningful connections within Categories, fuel growth in collaboration with our subject matter experts and unleash the possibilities from working together.
For Cummins, small business means a company that meets the regulatory requirements of the jurisdiction in which they are headquartered. For example, in the United States, the U.S. Small Business Administration (U.S. SBA) Industry Size Standards provide the requirements for the voluntary SBA Certification. We have small businesses in our supply base in more than ten (10) countries that we actively seek to include in our Categories and grow with us. In Africa, for example, the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE), is a South African government initiative aimed at promoting economic transformation and enhancing the economic participation of historically disadvantaged black South Africans. It is governed by the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act 53 of 2003, which establishes a legislative framework for compliance and implementation. The primary objectives of BBBEE include enterprise development to support the growth of black-owned businesses and integrating them into the mainstream economy. Cummins also strives to develop suppliers in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Canada and countries where we have significant operational footprint.
Backstage Pass
"Backstage Pass," is a Cummins program designed to provide small businesses with the training,
capability building and resources they need to grow with Cummins.

Our U.S. Small Business Program complements our U.S. Manufacturing commitment by unlocking additional opportunities for entrepreneurs to work with Cummins.
Certification and VerificationSuppliers that have attained U.S. Small Business Administration certification or its equivalency to industry size standards via an internal verification process are eligible to participate in our Backstage Pass initiative. Suppliers are also welcome to share other voluntary certifications they have attained; however, being certified helps Cummins track the size and demographic of its supply base globally and report on taxes, jobs, Tier II - Tier N development in our communities.
Training and MentorshipTraining, mentorship, and/or any elective special finance programs prioritize small businesses. Larger businesses not meeting our small business qualifications will continue to have access to our standard tools, training, and finance programs.
